The Corporation was established on January 16, 1996, having been spun off from China Steel Corporation (CSC) and become its first wholly owned subsidiary. Operations under its current status commenced on March I of the same year. The Corporation's business is centered on the production of aluminium plates, sheets, coils, foils, aluminium alloy ingots, zinc alloy ingots, zinc anodes for electro galvanizing, and aluminium bars, rods and drops.
